Hello, I’m Jes!

I live, love, and write in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.

Creatively, I’m a romantic drama that loves to flirt with other genres and forms. I’m seeking community with serious writers—and representation.

My scripts have been finalists in multiple competitions, including top 100 with Scriptapalooza and top 15% with Coverfly. I've published fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, and won three mentorships with the BC Festival of the Arts. What’s next? That may depend on you!

Besides being a prolific writer, I’m a devoted Mama, Grammy, Sis, and forever friend. I’ve kept deathbed promises, torn up marriage vows, and volunteered with Victoria’s homeless community for years. I'm a retired teacher who believes that collaboration is essential. I love giving notes, getting them, and watching projects flourish.

I write what I know, what I’ve seen, what I fear, and what haunts me, mining my wounds and desires for stories and characters that resonate. I write breakout roles and dialogue that I believe will help actors win awards.

My portfolio is grounded in well-researched, inspiring settings, from the Camino Ingles in Spain, which I walked solo, to famine workhouse museums in Ireland, homeless shelters and houseboats. But this pilgrimage of the pen needs you, now.

If I’ve piqued your interest, please check out my pitch decks and laurels - and contact me.

Best wishes, and Happy Holiday!
